The Pittsburgh trip was organized by NXNW veteran Mike Criswell, who resides in Ohio, only an hour and a half drive from the Steel City. Mike had visited the city many times and was very familiar with the locations we hit, including Heinz Chapel, located on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh.
Mike had learned that you can rent the Chapel for private events, so he booked it. In our case, the “private event” was a self-guided photo walk — with tripods! And even though we had it to ourselves, we had to take care not to get others in the group into our photos. It helped that we were self-aware, noting each other’s position, waiting for someone to move, violently confronting him if he didn’t. (kidding… just seeing if you are paying attention.)
The ambiance in the Chapel was very moody, so I tried to maintain that moodiness in my processing. It is best to view these images on a dark background, so click on them for best viewing.
