Beer Magazines

000  At Uptons Market

Beer Magazines • Yermo, CA • Day Two

Day Two of the trip, as I wrote about here, found us the original Del Taco and then circling back to photograph an old pickup truck in front of a liquor store. The liquor store in Yermo, CA was adjacent to a little strip mall that was also worth photographing.

The roadside sign of Upton’s Market (below) was aged to the point that you could barely read it, which of course, made it well worth a photograph. But the money shot for me was “BEER MAGAZINES.” Yes, I know, I know, the sign indicates that Uptons Market sells both beer AND magazines. But in my head, I pictured an entire rack of magazines dedicated to beer. Oh, and the light and lines were really cool too.

000  About This Series

From April 12 through April 20, 2025, I was on a Route 66 Photography Adventure (The Trip) with three good friends and like minded photographers. This series is recap of The Trip in stories and images.

All of the images were shot on that historic road or within a couple of miles of it. Neither the images nor stories are necessarily presented in chronological order.
