The Spiral

Washington Mill

The Spiral, Washington Mill

I took a deep dive into my catalog of Lawrence Mill images and this old relic presented itself. It is an image from the Washington Mill, one of the oldest textile mills in the city. I had the opportunity to explore it way, way back in 2010, when HDR processing was all the rage (If you know, you know).

This image one from only a few from that shoot that I felt was worth sharing, so I dusted off the old Nikon NEF file and reprocessed it.

A Window of Time

Why share it now, after all these years, you may ask? The reason for the deep dive and reprocessing of this gritty scene is, I am FINALLY working on a book.

The book, A Window of Time, will contain selected images from my years photographing the city of Lawrence and her Mills, as well as images along the same theme by my good friend, Steven Perlmutter. Perlmutter and I have a shared passion for these old buildings, and hosted about a dozen photography workshops in some of these buildings over the years.

There is more information to come as we curate the images and work on design. Stay tuned to this this site for updates.
